Q: How many folk singers does it take to change a light bulb? A: Hundreds - one to actually change the bulb, and the rest to go on and on forever about which type of old bulb they preferred. Whatever happened to the actual song? Surely the power of the song needs to be the overwhelming factor in discussion of the song, rather than arguing which singer's presentation is 'the best' - the latter is a matter for individual taste. By and large, Ewan presented songs splendidly (except when he didn't), but he always (imho) put the song first. I once heard someone say of a famous Shakespearean actor "I'd listen to him reading the phone book", but I hardly think she meant it literally...
