Yup, incense will fix almost anything. I had a dying cat with unspeakably bad digestion, and boy could she make a stench. Incense, usually vanilla, is my stink-chaser of choice.
Basically, since you're dealing with something non-toxic, all you have to do is cover up the smell, clean up what's obvious, and keep the air circulating. It'll go away eventually.
And yes, be careful with the TSP... it's what painters and contractors use to scrub surfaces absolutely clean and free of grease. It's very strong and harsh, not good for your skin, and pretty bad for any watershed that it might end up in.
