I also used to sing Outward & Homewrad Bound and indeed the line "Get up Jack let John sit down" was part of the penultimate verse (surprised you don't remember it Steve).
It features on the later recording produced by the Folk Union One club that met at the Bluebell in Hull for many years.
As is often the case with these ditties the lyrics were updated to include the modern characters (Charley & Freda - mine hosts at the Bluebell) but still a cracking song and frighteningly accurate.
