I learned this while watching Big Bird's Favorite Party Games.
In the home video, Big Bird and the gang repeated the song many times, but everyone left the first couple of lines silent while still signing the motions, leaving out more lines as the song went on. By the end, the song was completely signed, with the melody being played instrumentally.
