I've been singing the Marmite Song since Kevin McGrath kindly gave me one of his song-books at a long-ago Fylde Folk Festival. My colleague Ron Baxter (SailorRon on Mudcat) had been telling me for a couple of years about this man's hilarious contributions to Ron's annual singaround session, and I finally caught up with him when he sang this song. Some people find they get a very satisfying sense of order from the song, and a pleasing explanation for why Marmite and Bovril are scarcely ever found in even remote proximity. Thanks to FreddyHeadey for posting the links above to Kevin McGrath and Frank Harte, great singers both. I haven't drifted too far away from the original! Ross
