When the DH retired, he bought himself a laptop, and it had Windows 8 on it. It was an utter dog's breakfast. No manual, no directions, nowhere to go for help. We'd touch or click on things, and either nothing would happen or it would go somewhere else. I didn't just fall off the Christmas tree. Instinct born of 50 years working in offices told me that Windows 8 was put together by people who resented each other and refused to work together. Pretty soon the DH returned that computer and got another one which worked somewhat better. In time he got Windows 10. But to this day he uses it as little as possible and always wants to borrow mine.
