NightWing How many Mudcats have cats!? (911* d) RE: How many Mudcats have cats!? 01 Dec 21

I've never been a cat person. Always liked dogs better, but the apartments I've lived in for the past mumbledy years have all been very small: too small for a dog.

Early in June this year, a thunderstorm came through my little town. Pretty impressive one: rain pouring, wind roaring, lightning flashing, and thunder crashing.

I like storms, so I had the door open, just the screen door shut to keep out the bugs. In the middle of yet another crash of thunder, a voice cried from my porch. I opened the screen door and in marched a TINY, little, bedraggled, and soaking wet, yellow kitten. I wrapped her up in an old towel and she curled up and went to sleep ... and hasn't left and doesn't look like she intends to.

After a week of calling her "Dweebus" because I couldn't think of anything better, I was listening to 70's music and heard a particular song by Queen. She was immediately christened "Sumbuddy". More completely:

Sumbuddy du Luv, Queen of Mercury

Very quiet: never meows, just little "mrrp"s. Other than that one original cry for help in the storm, her purr is literally the loudest sound she makes.

Oddly, she doesn't like it when I sing. Immediately jumps off my lap and wanders off. No, people DON'T do that!

BB,
NightWing
