...long time passing. Pre-covid, I regularly attended several local folk clubs. I noted that the general age of attendees was beteween say 50 and 80. It is obvious that in a decade or so, due to the lack of young blood (except for maybe academy musicians) and the decreasing availabilty of venues, this form of community entertainment could die out completely. Nevertheless, I live in hope that, as in the past, there will be a resurgence in folk singing when listeners finally get fed up with the cyber electronic potpourri and re-discover the root of all music. And if so, will these future folkies label the new folk songs of today as 'traditional'? ;-)
