When Dame Pattie and I visited Roger Giles and Hilary a few years ago, the boots were under the bed in the guest bedroom. They were brought out and ceremoniously placed on the grate in the living room for the duration of our stay. Colum Sands told us that he was given the same hospitality and was subsequently inspired to write his song of the same name. Splott Man
