Today I was awestruck by the trees lit up all along the Rio Hondo in New Mexico, up near Lincoln along US 380. Only yellow and amber leaves need apply. Most seem to be cottonwoods, but there are also enormous tall Lombardy poplars. A really great drive, and you cannot capture a bit of it in photos. The other sign of autumn is it decided to get cold today, drat.
