Tony Rees The Folk Song Journal 1901 download (16) RE: The Folk Song Journal 1901 download 23 Dec 22

I wrote the above using my mobile while out and about ... here is the clickable version of the same link: https://support.jstor.org/hc/en-us/articles/360000585347-How-to-Use-Your-Free-Reads-with-a-Personal-Account

From that JSTOR page at time of writing (Dec 2022):
"When you have a free personal JSTOR account, you can read 6 articles online for free every 30 days. JSTOR has temporarily increased the number of total available articles you can read online for free from 6 to 100 per month. When you click on an article you would like to read online, there is a banner at the top of the page that tells you how many free article reads you have remaining for the period. Please note that according to publisher policies, not all articles are included in the free online reading program."

I have had a free personal JSTOR account for a while now - currently allowing access to 100 free article reads (but not downloads, note) per month - just tried an example from the FSJ and it worked fine: e.g. https://www.jstor.org/stable/4433862 Journal of the Folk-Song Society Vol. 1, No. 4, 1902 "Songs from the Collection of Lucy E. Broadwood" - once logged in, just check the "read online" button and away you go...

As mentioned, you cannot download/save the articles locally, however, which may be a limitation for some use cases.

Regards Tony
