This story makes me very emotional.
I am on the young end of the generation profiled in this group of senior citizens who come together to dance every week.
The story takes place in Ann Arbor, Michigan,
where the counterculture had strong adherents and there was a whole group of people to support and stand by each other.
I grew up within a hundred miles of this place,
but it might as well have been another country, with its political orientation, its mores, its repressiveness.
Had I had a chance to be one of the Ann Arbor dancers,
my whole life might have been very different than it was.
