Woody Guthrie (note spelling) is regularly covered, and not just within the folk-revival world. Mostly recently, I see, a full album's worth by the Dropkick Murphys, who have set unrecorded Guthrie lyrics to their own melodies. A particular favorite of mine in the same vein is a release by Del McCoury's bluegrass outfit a few years ago. I agree, of course, that Ramblin' Jack Elliott remains the greatest interpreter of them all.
