As a young person, I don't think singarounds/trad songs in general are dying at all. This forum skews old in terms of age (probably due to the antiquated web design), but young people are significantly interested in trad folk music. I run a singaround on a college campus in the US and we regularly have ~10 people every week, most of whom have never interacted with any sort of trad music before and are now firmly folkies.
