Yes its an odd business - - why is 'road food' in England quite so horrid. I think it got off to a bad start when all the first motor-stops were owned by Fortes in the 1960's. I often think that woman who comes on telly advising other hoteliers has a right cheek - her family having vandalised our tums for years. Mind you we started from a low point - I can remember when chicken and mushroom pukka pies where looked upon as an exciting innovation.
