According to the Spotify website, the Free web player is AAC 128kbits/s, the Premium is 256. For Desktop, mobile and tablet, Low is 24, Normal is 96 and High is 160. That's for both Free and Premium. Premium has a Very High rate of 320. These are switchable if you don't want to accept the default of Automatic. The web player is fixed.
