Thanks for that biology lesson, TB - I'm not so good at that! (AND the spelling of Cord vs Chord :) My friend is now having (a very expensive) op to try and repair the damage .... Sol, I believe that Cysts are a bit different to nodes/nodules/polyps in that they can appear, like I said, "almost overnight" like mine (I noticed over the course of a week or two). I did have my cyst drained some years back, but the improved singing ability only lasted about 6 months max. and my voice was still harsher than it had been. However, the regional hospital docs were reticent to slice it off - perhaps understandably!! So, sadly for me, I no longer sing ..... R-J
