The tune (and hence the chord sequence) is from "The Streets of Laredo", which was familiar to everybody in Scotland since the skiffle revival (and probably taught to every schoolkid via "Singing Together" and the like). There's a good chance that Armour didn't even bother giving it a name when he was writing the song.
