In my teen years the brother's show was the hip alternative to Ed Sullivan and it was a whole lot funnier. Through them, in the pre-YouTube days, we got a chance to see bands like The Who, The Jefferson Airplane and Buffalo Springfield, who we'd only been able to listen to up until then.
At least Tom didn't die in a vat of chocolate.
