Some good tips, thanks. I was trying to leave it fairly vague as far as instruments needed goes.

I'm a decent guitarist - played in semi-pro pop/rock bands in my youth. I'm no virtuoso, but I can more or less sight read and play most stuff that's put in front of me. I'm less good, but passable at mandolin and Irish bouzouki and can make a horrible din on a few other things.

I'm more into folk these days. I wasn't really thinking about getting back into performing until I bumped into a whistle player who's sparked my interest again.

My musical tastes are fairly broad, but I do like dance tunes - my copy of Playford is well thumbed. The whistle player leans more towards songs and is especially keen on things with a war theme. Of course, if others join we'd try to find a kind of mid ground or mix that keeps everyone happy.

As far as other instruments go, someone who could sing and/or play fiddle would be great, but frankly we're open to anything right now. Just trying to find some folks to have a bit of a musical mess around with and see what, if anything, happens from there. As far as experience goes, anyone who can hold a tune and play with others is welcome - we can learn from each other if necessary.

Is the folk club in Brid still running? Their website was last updated in 2019... not that that means much, I guess.

Hope that's of some help!
