I just posted this on Facebook... I take the current close-to-100F weather with these memories in mind. In July of 1954, my mother & I got on a train in 111F in Wichita, KS to go visit her brother in San Diego. We spent a nice week or so in balmy 78F, then went home and got off to 109F... ooof! I have delivered newspapers in 102+. The record in Wichita was 113 that year.
