I can play CDs on my PC using several different programs.(not "apps") and also on an original SONY battery powered player... and in my car. I can also play them on either of two LP recoard players that will convert them to MP3s. I even have a mini-disc player/recorder with many discs both used and blank. Just because some media seems to be outdated, don't make bets... LPs are making a comeback. (well, 8-track IS pretty well gone)
