Ok, that sent, so here y’are: Agreed with Keberoxu and JennyG about that awful “Mommy” song. None to partial to “Frosty the Snowman “ either. If you think carols in December are bad, you might not like “Carols in August”, an annual workshop at Whitby Folk Week, led by Dr Ian Russell, and featuring many of the Yorkshire and Derbyshire pub carols. Massed choir, small band, just fabulous! I usually play in the band and help out the altos. And Christmas fail: played for a “Christmas Bonanza” in our local library (ssshh!) very recently. Loads of kids present, happy to dance, and sing along with the usual stuff, but then requested “Jingle Bell Rock”: oops, not in the repertoire - yet! Project for next year.
