GUEST,Siri | Lyr Req: My Lagan Love: Beetle's horn? (40) | RE: Lyr Req: My Lagan Love: Beetle's horn? | 11 Jan 25 |
Crickets sing to attract sweethearts, and so do beetles too. In My Lagan Love the girl sits on a cricket's stone "And hums in sad, sweet under-tone The song of heart’s-desire." Just like the cricket and the beetle that hums in the evening, she is reaching out for love. This is a metaphor, I suppose. |
