Scrolling through this excellent thread I realised that I recorded a version of Suvla Bay in the 1980's in Dorset when I was song collecting. The singer was George Hirst, a retired cattleman and serviceman. He also had McCaffery and other military songs. The recordings are available for anybody on the BL website if you can find your way around it, since it was hacked.
