Haruo, this is one of those folk songs whose original authorship was either lost or weakly enforced enough that dozens of persons copyrighted versions of their own, from Doc Watson (Born About Six Thousand Years Ago) to The New Christy Minstrels (The Old-Timer), to Elvis (I Was Born About Ten Thousand Years Ago), and probably each and every one of those has their own copyright.
