| Vic Smith | Thomas Hardy Poems set to music (18) | RE: Thomas Hardy MUSIC Tim Laycock | 29 Jan 25 |
The tunes in the Hardy manuscripts, ones play by his own family and ancestors are one of the richest sources in England. His novels also have a number of fascinating references to the playing and singing of traditional songs and tunes; the richest of which is in Under The Greenwood Tree. The books also have a number with descriptions of dances invillages and who remembers Dave Swarbrick having the time of his life playing for dancing in the film of Far from the Madding Crowd.? | |||
