Yes, Kay was a brand sold at Woolies but don't knock it. I remember the late great Cyril Tawney playing one. As for “cheapest guitars”, it really depends when you bought it. I paid £37-10s for a red label Yamaha FG180, my first Martin cost me £190 and I once missed a ‘74 Epiphone Texan which went for £40.
