I was once booked to play for country dancing at a wedding. During the sound check the bride wandered in and announced that she didn't want any of that Irish stuff. I said we would only play English tunes but after the first dance she complained that we were still playing Irish music (we weren't). We didn't play long as it happens because the bride's father paid us off as the groom and best man had started a brawl on the dance floor.
