I remember him running clubs and he booked me at least twice, like a lot of other people his hard work running clubs was commendable.
But OBITS should be truthful.
I believe he was a lay preacher, but he clearly was a Curates egg, and to pretend otherwise would be hypocritical.
The only damage to his daughter and family and himself was by Dave, and it was a good many [20 to 30] years ago.
There are many other long running folk club organisers, who would be imo better people.
I feel about him much the same way, that i feel about Noel Murphy, who was a clever entertainer but another person who showed women and young girls a lack of respect [ thats an understatement]

I think this is a good place to close this thread, so I thank the moderator who closed it. But I think that's enough. I see no need for any messages to be cleansed from this thread. We do not have a tradition of whitewashing here.
