The 50th, back in 2016, was a bit of a fizzer. 2016 was the 100th anniversary of the uprising in Ireland, an event which was featured more than the 50th anniversary of the NFF. Many long-time attendees, some of whom had been at the original NFF back in the 60s, were a bit ticked off. I understand that the Irish government, via the Irish Ambassador in Oz, threw some money at the festival to help promote an Irish presence, but as to whether anyone gave money to celebrate the 50th anniversary - ah, that I don't know.
