TTHE TIMES THEY ARE A-CHANGING, 2025

(1) Gather ‘round people wherever your home
To fight for the country we still call our own.
Where a flood tide of hatred has steadily grown
And the racists and rapists are raging
If we don’t stand together it soon will be gone
For the times, they are a-changing.

(2) Come bloggers and writers with tablet or pen
It’s time you join the resistance again
A century’s progress could go down the drain
With democracy rapidly fading
You’d better act now while the wheel’s still in spin
‘Cause the times, they are a-changing.

(3) Come senators, congressmen, answer the call
When they broke through the windows, you ran down the hall
But now you deny that it happened at all,
That it was a coup they were staging
If you don’t grow a backbone we’re in for a fall
For the times, they are a-changing.

(4) Come mothers and fathers throughout the land
The fate of your children rests in your hand
For your sons and your daughters you must take a stand
Their hopes for a future are waning
Resist the autocrats however you can
For the times, they are a-changing.

(5) A line has been drawn and a curse has been cast,
Our flag with such promise now flies at half-mast
And our hope for the future will soon be the past
The threads of the fabric are fraying
This fight for democracy may be our last
For the times, they are a-changing
