I cry "convergent evolution". Extreme-right worships the Strong Leader as a point of principle; extreme-left *requires* a Strong Leader to make it halfway workable, then said Leader finds it necessary to be worshipped to stay in front of the mob.

I could give examples and counterexamples, but I suggest we end the thread drift here, before the prefects come round and kick us out of the Common Room.
