Socrates (via Plato) was right: when democracy starts failing, the cry goes up for the Strong Man to lead the people. And lo! there appears unto them a figure like unto the Übermensch, and they lead him unto the throne of the kindom; and little heed do they pay to the flickering of the CGI of his simulated strength, nor to him muttering, "Now we have the Throne, we mean to enjoy it." For a Glamour shall fall upon the people, and all ills shall be blamed on the Outsiders, and on the pernicious Outsiders Within who resist the Glamour, and they shall be cast into Outer Rwanda.
