MaJoC the Filk Help: Dirty Old Town? Meaning??? (MacColl) (455* d) RE: Help: Dirty Old Town? Meaning??? (MacColl) 23 Jun 25

I've probably mentioned this before, but my primary-school teacher told me that the last two lines of The Grand Old Duke Of York didn't rhyme because they ended in the same word. *Much* later, I realised that a word always rhymes with itself. Once you've got the concept of the Identy Rhyme, you've removed a special case from the set of words which do, or do not, rhyme with each other.
