One 4th, I was north of NYC in Scarsdale and went to Reverend Sun Moon's fireworks display at his mansion. A local ordinance restricted fireworks to mansion grounds so the only way to do that was to set them to explode at a minimum altitude. When the time came all the families with children had to shelter their kids with their bodies from the falling incendiary debris. Picnic blankets were catching on fire and the sound was deafening. In the chaos and exodus, I'm sure even the lame could run. The Boston Pop's fireworks were far more enjoyable.
