I don't know whether to start a different thread on this, but I've noticed a related phenomenon, or a special case, where the person being misheard is one's muse. I've decided to call it a Dewlap, from the line in "The Ballad of Bonnie and Clyde" (sung by Georgie Fame): While Bonnie loaded dollars into the dewlap bag
The writer of the lyrics was later asked what a "dewlap bag" was, and explained that the phrase he'd actually been after was "burlap bag", but he suffered a lapse of memory, and "dewlap bag" was what happened to fill the space. I'll give what I believe to be an example later, but dinner calls.
