"Maggies Drawers" were also what soldiers called the square red flag tied to the end of a bamboo pole and waved back in forth across a big frame target that the [non]marksman had missed completely. These along with other marking "paddles" were employed on the old (pre-1960) KD or known distance marksmanship ranges. As I recall, these ranges had various firing points out to 300 yards but I'm not certain. |
