Yes unfortunately Dave passed on a couple of years ago. He had a short illness from which he didn't recover. Not sure what it was. At his funeral Ian Campbell co-ordinated a review of Daves life including playing some old tapes from the days at the Jug of Punch.I was standing behind Martin Carthty and Dave Swarbrick at the church and when the vicar asked everyone to sing Daves favourite hymn Lord of the Dance. Swarbrick said to Carthy in a stage whisper ' done this one to death he did' My abiding memory of Dave is of him coming into the local in Moseley in Birmingham with his guitar case held in an awkward way and shouting out Barman bottle of beer over 'ere or occasionally he would break out into some operatic piece. Dave had a wonderful voice and a peculiar sense of humour and is sadly missed.
