On PBS (US) Civil War documentary, John Hartford (I think it was) sang a quick verse, something like: "Got my knapsack on my back My rifle on my shoulder. I'ma goin' down to Shiloh And there I'll be a soldier." (I'm hoping there's a full set of verses to match it. The closest fit in the DT is Rocky Mountain, but that seems a bit removed from the War.)
