I know just what you mean Gearoid. I think you just have to wean yourself off it. Years ago, I'd have to get absolutely hammered before I'd get a note out, but when drink/driving came along, like a lot of people, I had to alter my intake. It was a sort of crutch, even to the point of just buying a pint and having it there beside you. Now I just drink water (tap variety), and look forward to a couple of pints at the end of the night. Even though I love the stuff, I wouldn't dream of having a pint of Guinness before I started now. It just dries your throat out.The crutch still has to be there though. Now I have a packet of cough sweets with me and will panic if I've left them at home, which is a bit silly really. Regards Mick Bracken
