Hey, i sing this song but i think it might be a different version! Last night the queen had four mary's the nicht she'll have but three there was mary seaton and mary beaton and mary carmicheal and me. thats the first verse of the song i sing. What it says in my song is that mary hamilton was killed in castlegate oin edinburgh because she had the kings baby and the queen found out because she heard the baby crying in the middle of the night. another interesting fact about this song is that it has loads of different versions, in fact it is the song that has the most versions of all ballads and songs and stuff. the version i sing has 24 verses. its a lovely song whichever version you sing anyway!
