I think the site whose link I posted has the actual copyrighted lyrics, and it says "wait on the corner," so I guess that's what it is. That's what I've always heard on the Leroy Van Dyke recording. Funny how the same lyrics can be heard differently by different listeners. Concerning why C&W singers get sucked into adulterous relationships, in my opinion they don't do so any more than anyone else, they just like to sing about it. Regards, john
