I have been following this thread with some interest because I didn’t know there was an Irish connection in the Jacobite rebellion. Are we talking of the supporters of James II around the 1700’s. As far as I was aware the main support came from the catholic clans of the Scottish Highlands backed by France when it suited her to do so. I would appreciate a pointer to where I can find more info on the Irish connection Also a translation of the Irish lyrics that have been posted would be welcome as I regret to say my Irish isn’t up to much.I've seen the posted translation of Mo Ghile Mear but I would like to know if there are more translated lyrics of Irish Jacobite songs Ian
