GUEST,swoopy Bob Dylan writing autobiography (37) RE: Bob Dylan writing autobiography 31 Oct 01

Dylan writing autobiography sounds like a oxymoron But.... In my humble opinion Bob's efforts in non-music genres have been pretty geniune efforts to "break the mould" and have seen him spend months at least. All the hard work in Tarantula resulted in the most densely consistently brilliant album ever - Highway 61, although the book itself is either over my head or more proably simply unreadable Renaldo & Clara was never seen (to my knowledge) as it was meant to be, but the version i saw in late 1970's was still obviously a serious work, (maybe in the self Portrait tradition) Bob's paintings, well I haven't seen enough to really judge Also, many didn't take his comversion seriously at first either, but he sure as hell did. So I reckon that he is going to have a real go at it, but will be quite likely to try to subvert the whole autobiography genre in the process
