Canadian Bruce Cockburn has written a beautiful song called 'Southland Of The Heart' which I am beginning to learn. I don't understand the reference to 'southland'. (The song refers to "The southland of the heart where night blooms perfume the breeze / Lie down, take your rest with me".) Is it a particular Canadian or North American reference? |
