To add to the frustration, this is an email I just received from the BBC:

Subject: FW: Transatlantic Sessions 2 Date: Wed, 24 Feb 1999 13:50:26 -0000 From: Sian Evans-Customer-Services

Thank you for contacting the BBC. I have had a reply back from the Scheduler's Office to pass on to you?

> Thank you for your email. Transatlantic Sessions 2 was commissioned > by BBC Scotland for transmission in Scotland only. Unfortunately the fact > the first series got a UK Network transmission doesn't in any way > guarantee the second series will get one. Many programmes are made in the > different Nations - Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the English > Regions which are never shown on the Network, some might say this is a BBC > weakness but we feel it allows various Nations and Regions to make > programmes tailored to their own communities. We understand that > occasionally viewers will be frustrated by this fact. > > So at the moment we have no plans to repeat the series. I can assure > you this does not indicate any change in music policy by the BBC. I > appreciate that this must be disappointing for yourself and other folk > music fans but please remember the BBC does try to cater for all music > tastes on all its services be that Television, Network Radio and Local > Radio, including the Cambridge Folk Festival on BBC Two. > I hope this information is satisfactory.

Best wishes

Well, no, I am afraid the answer is bloody well NOT satisfactory. I am about to email them to say so.
