I've got an Ovation bottom of the line I bought new back in '85. Paid something like $200 for it. It seems to get better with age, although I agree with Don that as I get older and more 'rounder' the round back disagrees with me more. But maybe that's my cue to push away from the supper table a little sooner.

Anyway, someone told me once that the bowl-shape is a "true parabola," whatever that means. He then proceeded to demonstrate his prowess on the steel guitar and I was so distracted I never got to ask him to elaborate.

I like the thin neck, and it's easier to note than some more expensive accoustics I've played.

All I know is after taking the time to tune up proper with a fresh set of strings, I can strum a full bodied E chord and put my ear to the sound hole and the overtones generated are heavenly.

Think I'll go do that now.....
