Hank Snow was from Blue Rocks, Nova Scotia (near Lunenburg and Mahone Bay) The first few years of his adult life e was a commercial fisherman (the most dangerous occupation there is.) and, I've been led to believe that he was a fisherman aboard "Blue Nose". blue nose is the schooner pictured on the "Tails" side of the Canadian Dime. COOL, HUH?
Hank tried to introduce Maritime Folk Music to Country music fans. However, his first (and last)attempt was his recording of "The Squid Jiggin' Ground" which simply didn't appeal to the "Nashville"crowd.

Ever notice how "Married by the Bible"'s melody sounds a lot like, "The Rocks at Baccaleu"?
