Been checking the thread, and I couldn't find a mention of Christine Lavin, who's written some hilarious stuff... a great performer and a real delight in concert ! I also agree heartily with the posts for Eric Bogle and John Prine as well... I do recall an old rugby tune entitled "Mary Sue Barnes"... this was SO raw, that my group would save it for the Last song of the Last set of the Last time we knew we'd be playing at a particular Pub... it usually worked...
